Stockton, California has a rich history come join us in celebrating the regions great food, the arts and events. Are you a wine lover- we have it, do you love foods from around the world-we have it. Stroll along our water ways, farmers markets and over 100 different wineries that rival those of Napa, Sonoma and other great California destinations. August 13 through August 15th have some great events in store for you.
Ø Dave Brubeck 2010 Summer Jazz Colony Concert-Friday August 13th 5:30 at the University of the Pacific in the Faye Spanos Concert Hall. A world class production.
Ø Enjoy foods from around the world try the Filipino Barrio Fiesta Saturday August 14th at the Filipino Plaza 6 West Main Street. The event will feature a wide selection of Filipino treats: lumpia, pansit, adobo and halo-halo. Enjoy the folk dancing, a band contest and a Filipiniana fashion show. This year’s featured performer will be Sway Penala from the American Idol.
Ø On Sunday don’t miss the exhibit at the world class Haggin Museum featuring Bustles and Balustrades a study in the relationship between Victorian clothing and Architecture, Stroll through the museum and learn about our rich history. Learn about where Holt and Caterpillar got their start.
Cap you week end off by having dinner at one of our great restaurants, Le Bistro, Domo Japanese Steak House and one of my personal favorites Raw Sushi Bistro, say Hi to Dante for me. Take a bottle of one of our great wines home from the Lucas Winery, Jesse’s Grove, Heritage Oak Winery or one of the 100 different local wineries in Stockton and Lodi.
