Stockton a Great Place to Live and Relocate: The Downtown Marina and the Stockton Thunder

Stockton has a wealth of of attractions for current residents as well as those looking to buy and relocate their homes to Stockton. Stockton has invested in new recreational venues with the downtown Stockon Arena, the Stockton Port's ballpark and the soon to open downtown Stockton Marina and Promenade. Each week I will blog about some of the great things about Stockton and some of it attractions.

Downtown Marina and Promenade

Stockton residents especially boat owners are anxiously awaiting the opening of the marina which will be the center piece of the revitalization of Stockton's waterfront. It will feature 66 boat slips, offering six 80 foot berths, twelve 60 foot berths and forty eight 50 foot covered berths. It also features a four lane boat launch. The Marina is in the center of great restaurants, theater and the Weber Point Events Center. The Marina is the gateway to 100's of miles of Delta waterways.

The Stockton Thunder

The Stockton Thunder Hockey team was founded in 2005 and has provided exciting entertainment for Stockton. Attendence has led the league for 4 years and the team has advanced in 2009 to the second round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs. An affiliation with the NFL's Edmonton Oilers has taken the Thunder to three consecutive Kelly Cup appearances. The season is just now kicking off to another exciting year, be there for some great family fun. For more information about the Thunder visit their web-site at www.stocktonthunder.com .
